SERVE KAUAI

Our SERVE Kauai team is how we support our friends on the Southside of Kauai, Hawaii… and how you can see the real Hawaii. Although you might think of Hawaii as a tropical paradise, for many locals it is a trap into one of the highest drug addiction and suicide rates in the nation. You’ll join us in supporting the Keala Foundation, a nonprofit organization, that serves Hawaiian communities through programs for at-risk youth. You’ll also get your hands dirty at the Old Koloa Regenerative Farm to help restore agricultural lands that provide sustainable resources to the local community. Joining us on this trip of a lifetime means giving back to the Paradise Islands and getting to see the side of Kauai that tourists don’t.

  • There are two main features of the Kauai SERVE team. One is to help facilitate the quarterly Keala Assessments that help the Keala Foundation gather evidence-based data on the success of their program and continue to improve their youth programs. It’s also a time to celebrate the accomplishments of these kids after months of hard work! You’ll be a part of the daily classes under the direction of the Keala coaches. The second highlight of the SERVE team is to give Sally at the Old Koloa Regenerative Farm some extra hands! This might be turning soil, putting in new seeds, pulling crops or picking weeds. You’ll learn about the local agriculture and what’s happening at OKGF to create positive change. You’ll also get to enjoy some time on the beach, hiking and if you’d like, surf lessons!

  • If you’ve got a heart to serve and capable body and mind to keep up with a team, we invite you to apply! You do NOT need to be a coach or fitness expert of any kind, nor do you need to know anything about agricultural farming. What we’re looking for is people that are prepared to be “strong to serve” with us in the heart of Hawaii.

  • The SERVE team is expected to arrive on Saturday, April 20, and will depart on Saturday, April 27. You are responsible for your own airfare and there is a $500 registration fee after being accepted to the team. This will cover your lodging, food and transportation. There will be scheduled periods of free time, but you will otherwise be expected to follow the SERVE team lead and participate with the group.

“I discovered, through this SERVE team, not what I can do but what we can accomplish together. I’m so grateful for the adventure!”

If you can’t join us, you can make sure that someone else can.

There are more ways to SERVE than by giving your time. If joining us on this team isn’t possible for you, you can still support these missions any way. Please consider donating to our sponsorship fund to fuel projects like this! Or contact us directly at info@pointonevision.com
